Isaiah 1:1-9
At that time, the nation of Zion seemed strong and wealthy. But God had shown Isaiah, a man of God, signs of a very real and present danger. People were using their power to do wrong. Men went around drunk; women cared more about their clothes than about their neighbours' hunger. The people of God were just going through the motions in worship and were just putting on a good but empty show of religion.
How true it is of us today too. We sometimes coo soft love songs to God only when we truly want something from Him. And then ignore Him for the rest of the time.
It’s just like a husband who is too busy preparing for work in the morning to kiss his wife good morning, and tell her he loves her. Then when he comes back from work, he picks up the remote control to watch Tv, ignoring his wife’s request to help set the dinner table. Then when bedtime comes, he goes behind his wife and gives her a massage and whisper sweet nothings to her so that he can have sex with her. That’s what we do to God sometimes.
God was not happy… it was not what he wanted at all from the people He loves. He deserves so much more.
God’s patience with us humans always amazes me. His grace is amazing. In the middle of His intense and stern warning, He invites his children to come to Him and find forgiveness and freedom from their guilt and sin.
Vs 18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool…” The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.
He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.
Revelations 16:15 “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.”The above verse does not mean sexual immorality but it implies that let us not be caught off guarded and red handed doing the wrong things.
When things look hopeless to you and you wonder what God is up to while you go through your tough times, don’t ever forget that He is going to make things right in his time. And when He does there will be no doubt left that He is in charge, that he makes things beautiful for you if you allow him to. “Teach us Oh LORD... Every new day, to do just that.

A slight smear of shame flashed upon my guilt-ridden heart as I read your article..I live for myself, doing the things I want to do, saying the things I want to say, though carefully abiding the moral attributes of this worldly environment. Great to read that you swear by God's belief and chose to take his path religiously. Cheers~
Guilt is an expression of inward consciousness of knowing something is amiss. I know that feeling far too well myself sometimes too. Yet, i assure you more than not, this could jolly well be a prompting to pursue the freedom & answers that you seek. Its whether we listen to the small voice or not. Cheers Joshie...
