Half Filled & Happy

Let’s use an age old analogy. If you see a glass of water on the table, would you say that it is half filled, or half empty? Or would you say neither, and ask “Why is it water and not juice?”
Life itself has enough problems and worries by each day, so why add further burden by quipping about these minute things?

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life... Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25-34)

Do these things we worry about really matter to us? The truth of the fact is, Yes they do. But should they bother us as much as they should? My constant reminder to myself, and I challenge you today my friends… that do look at the water in your half filled glass, and say “Thank God I have water in this glass to drink!” And if you happen to chance upon others whose glass is totally empty, learn to give. “For it is more blessed to give than to receive.” Give not expecting a reward or word of thanks, but give out of gratefulness for the things you already have and others do not. You want to have a meaningful life? Then find meaning in the simple things in life. Share this story with you all:

THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present
"Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids

2. Taj Mahal

3. Grand Canyon

4. Panama Canal

5. Empire State Building

6. St. Peter's Basilica

7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied,” Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many.” The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the ‘Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. To See
2. To Hear
3. To Touch
4. To Taste
5. To Feel
6. To Laugh
7. And to Love

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous!

Let us be gently reminded….
that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.
Have a blessed day and week ahead... God Bless You!
